Project Overview:
Skywolff Automation's Diesel Engine Monitoring Gateway Deployment
Skywolff Automation successfully deployed diesel engine monitoring gateways at two mining operations: a Gold Mine in Namibia and a Manganese Mine in South Africa.
The projects aimed to enable remote monitoring of engine performance for the mining equipment.
Skywolff Automation’s role in the project included:
- Gateway Installation: Installing the gateways on the diesel-powered earthmoving machines.
- Configuration and Setup: Configuring the gateways to transmit engine data wirelessly over cellular and Wi-Fi networks using the MQTT protocol.
- Testing and Validation: Thoroughly testing the gateways to ensure proper data transmission and reception.
- Integration with MQTT Broker: Integrating the gateway networks with an off-site MQTT broker for data handling and analysis.
Key achievements of the project:
- Remote Engine Performance Monitoring: The deployed gateways provided real-time data on engine parameters, allowing for remote monitoring and analysis.
- Enhanced Operational Efficiency: By monitoring engine performance, mining operations could identify areas for improvement, leading to increased efficiency and reduced downtime.
- Condition Monitoring: Remote monitoring of engine data helped to identify potential issues before they escalated, contributing to a safer operating environment.
Skywolff Automation’s successful implementation of these gateways ensures enhance operational efficiency and safety for their client.
